Fodor's New "Rant & Rave" Section-Rate Hotels/Restaurants

Since Fodor's has re-vamped their website - there is a new addition called "Rant & Rave" where you can rate a hotel or restaurant practically anywhere in the world! The rating system is 1-5 (1 being the worst - 5 being the best) and you can also include your own comments. I added my comments on a few properties we stayed at and hope that others will make their comments also. I like this new addition to the site. Check it out and add your own comments. Have a great day, Erika

I wanted to add a hotel that we stayed at recently and thought was wonderful, but it is not located in one of the cities in the list that comes up when you go to add something. Am I missing something or are we limited to hotels and restaurants that are located in the big cities?

Right now, we're restricted to hotels and restaurants already listed in Fodor's miniguides, no matter where thry are...

Am I losing it or what? I get to the Rants & Raves Section where you post your opinion but I can't find the connection to get to the reviews others have posted??? All I see is the Fodors description. Help!

I think this is a great concept, too, but unfortunately the most well-known hotels (the Hyatt and Hilton, to name two) and many of the great restaurants in my favorite vacation spot - Key West - are missing. I wish there were an opportunity for us to add to the existing lists. And to the previous poster: I think the reason you don't see comments yet is because they haven't been made. After all, this is a brand new site!

Joseph:

I thnk your confusion stems from the fact that the site is so new, 99% of the properties have zero responses, while the rest have only one. When you get to the list of properties for a selected city, there is an average rating number and the number of reponses. If the columns are blank (actually, a dash), nobody has responded.

If you click on the name of the hotel, you will see Fodor's review of the hotel. Not a "rating" so to speak, but lots of insight nevertheless.

Allen,

Thank you for your comments. Actually, when I tried again, going in a different way, the site came up as you are obviously seeing it. I was doing the short-cut thing, and getting to Fodor's review, but couldn't get any further. Try going to the short-cut immediately, going to the U.S. that way, and see if you hit a stone wall as I did. I'm going to sign off, and try going in the old way again, and see what happens! Thanks again!

Aloha,

Joe
