Florence- Accademia and Uffizi

Is it reasonable to do both in the same day, (not get totally immersed but just to see the highlights??) My window for museum time will be limited as I just realized I will be in Florence on a Monday when all the biggies are closed! So I want to make Sunday reservations ASAP.

You should post this over on the Europe Forum . . . .

Yes, you should post on the Europe board, but also yes, you can do both in the same day. Plan for a shorter visit at the Acc. and a longer one at the Uff. If you're in reasonably good condition, you can walk from one to the other.

we did both in one (long) day. Book the Uffizi for the morning. You'll spend 2 1/2 hours there. Have lunch. The Academia is a 1 hour visit. The David is amazing and the other statues in the gallery too. We booked Uffizi for 9:30 and Academia for 3:00 and it was fine. You might be able to work in the Medici Chapels as well if you are real troupers.
