Anybody anywhere who can convince you that they can accurately predict airfares undoubtedly also has some palm fringed land in Alaska they will sell you for cheap. The rule: when you are "comfortable" with a fare, pull the trigger.Snooze, you lose.Best of luck to you.

I agree with beacBoi totally. I love it when people here tell you about what "usually" happens with fare sales based on what they vaguely remember from "last year" which is totally irrelevant to what is happening NOW.
When that somebody tells you there will BE a sale they just picked your pocket.

Wait--I'll consult my Magic 8 Ball....
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
The above is correct, it's really impossible to predict fare sales. There have been times when I bought at the right time, and times when I waited too long and missed it, so I know how you feel. It's a game, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
The only suggestion I can make is to check the days just before and after your original dates, that is, if you have any flexibility. Good luck, I hope you find something that works.

alright wise guys! anyway --i was looking for an answer from someone who either works for an airline or maybe someone who has played around with watching airfare rates and what their opinion was.......maybe an insider tip to why/when rates go up and down......best days of the week to buy, when airlines check inventory -etc.
