Flamingo Hilton

Went to Las Vegas last year in march and
LOVED it! Stayed at NYNY (nice casino..but not a great place to stay)....we are going back this week and have booked a week at the Flamingo Hilton...a 2 bedroom suite in the timeshare area of the Flamingo Hilton...I had heard it was very nice..but after reading some posts...am not sure it is the best place to stay...we wanted to stay at Paris or the Aladdin...but for $150 for a whole week..tough to beat...anyhow..anyone have any info on the Flamingo? Would be much appreciated....also..how far in advance should we book "O"? Grand Canyon bus tours from Vegas worth while?? Helicopter tour??

We have always stayed at the Flamingo when in LV. It certainly is not one of the newer, glitzy hotels, but is located in a great location, across from Bellagio and Caesar's and next to Paris...we always stay on one of the upper floors in a large room, but not a two room suite. If you can get a great price for a suite, you don't have anything to lose.

We are regulars at both the Flamingo Hilton Hotel and the HGVC/Flamingo timeshare resort. For shorter stays of 4-5 days, we stay in the hotel on the upper floor ( 28th ) as the Flamingo comps everything for us. For longer stays, we stay at the HGVC/Flamingo timeshare. We are t/s owners and exchange into HGVC.

The HGVC/Flamingo is an excellent timeshare resort. It is definitely one of our favorites. We also like the Flamingo Hilton hotel but that relationship goes back for many years.

Like the previous poster said, the Flamingo Hilton is not as glitzy nor glamorous as some of the newer properties but it is still pretty nice.

The HGVC/Flamingo is very nice and you should enjoy it very much. It shares all of the facilites and amenities of the hotel.

As far as side trips in Las Vegas. The bus trip to Grand Canyon is very nice but it is a 6 hour drive each way which, with a couple of rest stops along the way, allows for only about two hours at the Grand Canyon. Long enough to take pictures and shop a little. I recommend Showtime Tours for any tour because they are new and have top of the line motor coaches, it is owned by Funjet which guarantees the highest quality product. Funjet also offers a helicopter tour over the strip at night-time which I did and absolutely loved. Funjets tour number is "Vegas and More" at 702-730-4670
They have a special right now on the nite flite! Its awesome, ask your pilot to fly thru the Luxor light on your way back to the helipad!! Price ranges from $32.00 - $69.00 per person, this includes free champagne pre-flight! You will love it!! Its a great way to experience all of Vegas!! They also offer heli trips to the Grand Canyon! Good Luck!

Just a suggestion - why don't you visit the Grand Canyon, and Bryce and Zion in Utah and take a SIDE TRIP TO VEGAS instead?

That would be great..and we could spend the week riding a donkey up and down the canyon trails....hehe...love the Vegas excitement..not to shortchange nature...but VIVA LAS VEGAS...besides..isn't Bryce Canyon all the way in Wyoming? Or is it Utah? At any rate..it's no where near Vegas or the Grand Canyon...

Bryce Canyon is in Utah -- we just flew from Vegas and drove to Bryce Canyon -- I think 5 hours may qualify in your mind as "no where near Vegas" but in reality, it is.

Darius:

Don't listen to all of these tree huggers. Las Vegas is the place to be.
