FLA Keys and Spring Break

I would like o plan a trip in April, but want to avoid the FLA spring break crowd. Do the Keys gets mobbed around Spring Break as well?

There was an article in the paper about KW and Spring break yesterday, seems that the student mobs have dwindles so much they did away with Mayor's Court for minor infractions ie open container etc. Most of the students are going to Panama City, Daytona, Cancun and S. Padre Island where it is cheaper and they don't get hassled by the cops. You should be ok in April.

If you are not wanting to be among the Spring Break crowd Key West is not an option for you. They have been here (in Key West) since the beginning of March and the crowd is only growing. On the other hand, most of the other Keys are relatively free of Spring Breakers (except anything near Holiday Isle in Islamorada). Try to get below Key Largo (little Miami) for a real Keys experience. Most of the beaty in the Keys is under the water. Don't expect wide, sandy beaches.

Julian: I just had a friend come back from Key West- Spring Break crowd is there in a BIG way. However, Shannon is correct- the spring break crowd is confined mostly to Key West and Holiday Isle. Also, if you go later in April most of it will be over.
