Hi there! I live in Orlando, which is very close to Mount Dora. It's a small quaint town...but there's not a whole to it. There are lots of antique shops.... and that's about it. Good luck!

Mount Dora is a pleasant stop in the area - as Sarah said it's an antique-y sort of place, no doubt full of bed and breakfasts emitting clouds of potpourri scent. Very nice town park in the center of things - we happened along during what seemed like a whole-town sidewalk sale - lots of cool things to see or purchase, at fairly high cost.

I thought St. Augustine was nicer than Mt. Dora. I wasn't all that impressed with the rooms in the bed and breakfasts, either. It's not a bad place, I just thought other places such as St. Augustine were better.

You can see everything in Mt. Dora in half a day. Honeymoon in St. Augustine, stay on the beach or in a B&B.

Go with St. Augustine. I have relatives in Mt. Dora & Eustis areas & it's nothing to brag about.

I live about 25 miles from Mt. Dora, and while it's a nice place to go for a day-trip, I don't think of it as being a "honeymoon" type of place. It would get kind of boring after a day or 2, even on a honeymoon!

Rent a car it would probably be cheaper.

In the waaaaaaay distant future there is talk of a train possibly running from downtown Orlando to Mt. Dora area as part of Sunrail system.

Check out The Lakeside Inn in Mt. Dora. Built in 1883. It's on Lake Dora. Since this is part of Lake County I believe, you could check out renting a boat for fishing or skiing. Then there are the antiques. You could also do a day trip to Orlando.
