Fisherman's Wharf fire 3/17

Anyone know what actually burned at Fisherman's Wharf in some big fire 3/17? I read SF Chronicle article on-line, but was not actually able to place the location of the fire based on article. Just curious - can someone give some landmarks?

It's a very large and historic structure called The Cannery. It was a huge and very intense blaze - will be surprised if the building is salvageable.

Apparently (SF Chronicle) it was an old warehouse next to the Cannery shopping center. Sounds like the Cannery wasn't badly damaged itself. The warehouse was being converted into a boutique hotel to be called the Argonaut.

Pier 39 which is next door had smoke and water damage and will be closed until cleaned up. Pier 39 is where all the shops and restuarants are.

Pier 39 is not next door; it's across the road, on the water side, and quite a bit further east. I looked at the article in the SF Chronicle and Pier 39 wasn't mentioned; perhaps you meant the Cannery, which was flooded while they were putting the fire out. It does have lots of shops and restaurants. Pier 39 does too, and it's still OK as is Ghirardelli Square.

It was a 5 alarm fire which required more than 150 firemen according to our newscast last night. It was the Haslett warehouse, which as someone said above, was scheduled to open as a hotel soon. It is located next door to the Cannery, an old brick structure that houses shops and restaurants. The Cannery had flood damage and a melted awning on Las Margaritas restaurant. They're concerned now that the rest of the building is going to collapse.
