First wedding anniversary -5 nights in Hawaii

My husband and I are planning to go to Hawaii for our first wedding anniversary .we plan to go between 27th Dec 06 to 2nd Jan 07.There are so many islands and we do not know which one we should go to..we would like to have a memorable and relaxed time, plan to spend time on the beach and do some underwater activities etc.

Any suggestions for this young couple??

Thanks!

Expect it to be crowded. It's a pretty popular time in HI. At the time of year you are going I would pick Maui or the BI. If you want to do lots of outdoor stuff the BI has all that. If you want any night life you may prefer Maui. Maui is really popular so there will be more visitors there.

There are two books that you could check out Muia Revealed and Bif Island Revealed. They may help you decide which island is for you.

My first suggestion is to check lodging availability on any of the islands and narrow it down from there. It is a busy time of year and the lodging will be expensive - if it is even available at this point. Good luck! I hope you find someplace perfect for you and your husband.

I recommend www.vrbo.com for condos as a better option than a hotel. Usually a lot cheaper, and a lot more selection. We've been to Maui, Kauai, Oahu, and BI our last 2 trips. Haven't had a bad experience on vrbo-all have been excellent! We are going again next fall, and our faves are BI and Kauai.

I, too, would go to Maui. I would suggest Kapalua, Kaanapali, or Napili as towns to stay in.

Maui would be my first suggestion.

But I also love Oahu and the Waikiki and Honolulu area very much.

I like Oahu because there is much more to see & do there than any other island.

Maui, Big Island & Kauai are more relaxing though.
