First Tropical Storm of the Season on the East Coast.

Great. First tropical depression of the season is supposed to be upgraded by tomorrow to a Tropical Storm on the southeast coast.

Battan down the hatches, hope the beaches don't erode, hope don't lose power, lose foilage, hope it doesn't flood inland.

Good news, we need the rain.

GT, how does your throat feel?
Does this mean that we, in Jax, should batten down our hatches too?
Should I get excited over something weather related or just be blase like a long time Floridian
Do you sit and watch the trees in your yard and wonder if they will fall on your house? ( my new pasttime)
Stay safe & dry!

LOL Scarlett!

My two palm trees aren't tall enough to take out my house thank goodness. I do worry that all the blooms will fall off the bougainvilla. My crepe myrtles are far enough away from the house and sufficiently bent by the ocean breeze to do any harm!

I also worry about losing power (AC) in this heat.

This storm is good news for you guys and hopefully for me.

When a hurricane or tropical depression is north of you, it erodes the beaches to the northwest of the eye of the storm and piles the sand on the beaches south.

You all probably had bad riptides and heavy surf all day.

Thanks for asking about the strep. I finally feel like a human being again after living on Freezy Ices since Monday. Yuck.

I got out of bed yesterday and feel like a million bucks today. Missed most of work last week and feel guilty. Just a little guilty

Oh darlin, save the guilt for the bag of M&Ms eaten out of boredom!!

I am surrounded by very very tall Southern pines and I do hope they continue to stand tall and not lie down on my house.
I agree about the A/C..even when we had a lightening strike the other day, we had a fried computer but thank God the a/c stayed on!

Keeping this TRAVEL related, it is great fun to stand on the beach, far enough from the water to be safe and watch the beautiful powerful waves~ I think we might go for a beach walk tomorrow ~

GoTravel & Scarelett, yes, batten down those hatches and we'll keep monitoring you. I'm just glad it developed after it was past me. I'm hoping all the rain and cooler temps we've lately had will fare us well this coming September....the month of doom.

Keep us posted and stay safe!

So far, our 5 day forecast is the same as every other day. Hot/Humid/afternoon Thunderstorms.

Scarlett, those pines are tall and strong and will bend before they snap.

The big ole Live Oaks are the ones that worry me with the shallow root system.

Looks like the storm will pass me but now I have to worry about mother's house in Pawley's Island.
