first trip to Hawaii - check out my crazy itinerary

My hubby and I just went to Hawaii in June for our honeymoon. It was our first time there and we also went for about 16 days. We wanted to see everything for fear of never getting the chance to go back. This was our itinerary and it actually worked out pretty well:
Day 1-2: Stay in Waikiki
Day 3-5: Stayed in Hilo (volcanoes park, etc.)
Day 6-9: Stayed in Kona
Day 10-16: Stayed in Maui
One suggestion to save you some money on Oahu...stay in the Kailua/Lanikai beach area in a B&B instead of on Waikiki. Much cheaper and very beautiful, also full of local culture. When I go back someday, that is where I'd stay.
