Hi Lisa,
The Marriott Marquis is in Times Square and I think it's an excellent choice. I have friends that stay there whenever they come to New York and they like it so much they even had their wedding reception there.

Hey Lisa,
I'm also going to NYC in May with some friends for my 40th. What other agenda ideas do you and your daughter have. We ended up booked the Sheraton Manhattan due to budget restraints of some of the gals.

My husband, son and I stayed at the Marriott Marquis two years ago. We were taking a cruise out of New York Harbor and went into NY one day early. The hotel was great. Our room was quite large (I was pleasantly surprised) with a view of Times Square. Location is excellent and I think you'll be happy with your choice. At that time, "Annie Get Your Gun" was showing at the Marquis Theater which is right in the hotel - it was perfect.

Have fun!

Marriott is very nice and in a perfect location. I would strongly suggest going on the Lincoln Center tour, seeing all the theaters that are included, Met. Opera, NYC Ballet, etc. I was an absolutely wonderful tour. Also do the harbor cruise, excellent commentary and UN tour, very interesting.

Very impressive looking hotel with a good location. However, the waits to get on elevators are unbelievable. When one finally reaches your floor, it's usually packed and you have to wait for another one. Rooms are large with a definite hotel feel - not charming or cozy. Depends on what you like.
