Fireworks show at Disneyland

My family and I are traveling to USA from Australia and arrive in LA on a Saturday afternoon, from looking at the disney site the fireworks show is only on, on the Saturday and we will be leaving on the following Thursday. Can anyone advise if you get a good view of the fireworks from outside the park (like at downtown disney)? We are not sure whether to use a pass for half a day to see the fireworks, also how jet lagged we will be.

Thank you for any input.

The fireworks are usually last thing at night before the park closes - it was about 8.30pm the night we were there (June 2000), and was about an hour after the parade.

We stayed at a hotel right across the street from Disneyland, and heard the fireworks the night before we went there but couldn't see anything.

Hope this helps.

Disneyland fireworks (outside of July 4th or other special events) are not worth making plans around. It's a 10 minute show that should be viewable if you have access to the skies above Sleeping Beauty's castle.

We were at Disneyland this last weekend and they had cancelled the fireworks show due to national events. I'm not sure when you're visiting or how long this will be in effect -- just thought I'd mention it.

I have seen the show from driving by on the freeway and it looks pretty amazing, but I wouldn't pay for the park just to see it. Visit Downtown Disney (which is also really cool), and I'm sure you can see them from there. I don't know what the best spot would be, though...
