Finger lakes of NY

DH and I are really into Bike trails, hiking, wine tours.. and as we did research it led us right to Finger lakes of NY. We want to go round mid july, so, we were wondering if anyone out there in Fodorland can help us? Any tips on where to stay, eat, bike trails,... anything woudl be be greatly appreciated! Oh yeah, it is just DH and I ... no kids.. just us and our bikes

I did see some rather nice bed and breakfast.... has anyone tried one of them? The only 2 things we would insist on is our own private bathroom and A/C.

Thank you

Watkins Glen would be a great base for you and the Harbor Hotel is wonderful. Right on the lake, great hiking thru the Watkins gorge, short drive to Ithaca with lots of hiking and biking. Keuka and Seneca Lake have a wide variety of wineries. Restaurants to check, Red Newt Bistro, Ports, Stone Cat Cafe, Danos, more suggestions if you need. Enjoy .... the Finger Lakes is a hidden gem!

We drove the Seneca Wine Trail and enjoyed it very much:http://www.senecalakewine.com/ We stayed at Belhurst Castle in the Vinifera Inn wing and thought it great! The room is beautiful and huge! but it must be the Vinifera, the others are very old and worn.

I didn't see it but the post removed was probably an ad of some sort, That's the most common reason things are removed here. The links were probably posted by a person who's connected to the business
