Felicia Suzanne's restaurant and Memphis

So far all of the reviews on this restaurant are favorable. But I have not seen anything recent. We have reservations at Felicia Suzane's and Chez Phillipe. Both have good menus, but I just would like a bit more advice.

Thanks
Christina

I'm not sure what to say. It's been over a year since we ate at Felicia Suzanne's but our meal was absolutely fabulous - by FAR the best meal we've had in Memphis.

We never go to Memphis without spending time in the Peabody lobby bar (one night we saw 5 wedding parties there!), but I haven't really been tempted by Chez Phillipe. It has the highest rating of any restaurant in town, so it must be good.

The fine dining restaurant that seems to be getting the most buzz now is the restaurant at Hunt Phelan Inn. Though on Beale, it's in a terrible area and if you want to give it a try, you'd need a cab. huntphelan.com

definitly plan on drinks at the peabody. We are staying there. But dinner is still up in the air. We have to pick one night for our group, and I want it to be fantastic.

I understand the ambience in Chez Phillippe is great, but is the food as good as Felicia Suzanne's?

I've never eaten at Chez Phillipe. I peeked in the restaurant one night and it was empty. In my opinion, no ambience in the world can make up for no diners. I'd rather have a nice atmosphere (with others present) than sit in an empty room - no matter how fabulous.

Chef Jose Gutirrez has left Chez Phillipe and opened his own restaurant just around the corner from The Peabody.

FS's is outstanding. My favorite Memphis restaurant is Erling Jensen's. Bon Appetit...........

Sorry, when I lived in Memphis I was a poor intern so mostly ate at cheaper places like Cozy Corner and various other barbeque places. Upscale was the Rendezvous or Automatic Slims.
