Favorite upper west side bagel place?

Where should we get bagels at one morning (near the Exelsior hotel)? I'm sure there are tons of places, but any ones that we shouldn't miss?

If you're looking for bagels to take out, H & H are large/fluffy/doughy. Tal Bagel on Broadway & 90 st. are more dense. If you're looking for a place to eat in, Barney's Greengrass is known for their smoked fish (nova, lox, salmon etc). Zabars and Fairway market are also good.

As far as many New Yorkers are concerned, there is only ONE bagel place on the UWS -- H&H.

Incredible! Expect a long line during peak time in the morning, but it moves quickly.

Enjoy!

Agree.

For New Yorkers, there's only H&H (even for a East Midtowner like me).

Lenny's is a great deli that has a few locations on the UWS (74th & Columbus, 84th & Columbus). They stock H&H bagels at both stores, and you can get breakfast sandwiches made. Also a great lunch place. There's no Lenny's in my new hood and I miss it!

Lenny's is great, but a delivered bagel just isn't the same as a fresh one purchased at H&H.

Last week I had a cinnamon raisin that was so hot & fresh -- right out of the oven -- I had to wait a few minutes before I could eat it. There's not an adequate superlative to describe it.
