Favorite Maui Condo
Does anyone have a favorite condo they have stayed in recently and would reccomend it? I am looking for a one bedroom unit and would like it to be well decorated and up to date. If you liked your unit please provide me with the unit# and who I need to contact. I have heard it is cheaper renting from the owner directly. I would like to do this if I could be sure I could get a nice unit.
Thanks.
Thanks.

We've stayed at The Mahana about 6 times, always great. The pool is small (if that is a concern) but the views are to die for (dead on ocean view from all windows!!). We've always rented through Aston Hotels for The Mahana, I do not like dealing with an individual owner. It may be cheaper but if you don't like the unit you may not get the management to agree to change you. We've stayed in one bedroom units, some have 2 baths, some have 1, but the ones we have had were all nice. It's always wise to ask upon check in for an "updated/remodeled" unit. We were told one time when we were there that the biggest problem all condo management companies have is getting some (not all) owners to update their condos. Some owners feel they can get the max for their condo without doing anything and then get annoyed when guests complain that the furniture was old, or the carpeting needed replacing. I think we may have had 705 a few years ago, the number sounds familiar.
Just as a point of caution - do not believe everything an owner tells you (or anyone for that matter). Pictures can lie and/or be old. Rent with an open mind.

I think it was 805 that had the two bathrooms that we stayed in (not 705 and if that is rented by an owner I know it was not the one). Whatever, there are just a few (one on each floor I think) one bedroom, 2 baths if that is a concern.
We've also stayed at the Ka'anapoli Shores and did not care much for it (our condo was OK, but not as nice as what we had at The Mahana). The Whaler is also nice, but again, individual owners have them furnished differently and if you want an updated one you need to be explicit. We had a great one there one time, 2 bedrooms/2baths, huge wrap around terrace!

We stayed at the Makena Surf condos in Wailea, awesome!! Our view out the balcony and dining room was the ocean. Very nice, spacious and private. We used Eric at All globe travel. We were in building F. There was also one for sale and we went and checked it out. The sales price was $2.5 million.
that was the best place I have ever stayed at.
