But for really fine dining and excellent seafood Frank's and Frank' Outback are even better than Louis's.
There's a very good Italian deli in Pawley's also--from NJ.

Gretchen,

Orobosa's is a restaurant, free-standing. Not sure about the hardware store, but it is on the causeway road to Pawleys Island; I believe it is the traffic light just below the Hammock Shops, turn there, and it's on your left perhaps a 100 yards from the Hwy.

Yes, I think that is the building I am thinking about. It has been a caterer several years ago, if I recall the sign correctly. Will give it a try.

GoT - which one? Divine Fish House or Creek Ratz?

Thanks in advance!

Upscale or campy?

Campy; Creek Ratz

More upscale: Divine Fish House

You must walk down to Spud's on the Marshwalk and have an after dinner drink. Wahoos at Divine Fish House for a pre dinner drink.

Either restaurant you can wear shorts and flip flops. Divine Fish house also has a sushi bar. Don't miss the three dimensional custom made stained glass dolphins and sea turtles hanging from the ceiling.

Thanks GoT. I ate Creek Ratz in Murrells Inlet tonight. Good food. Great view. Thanks for the tip!

(Passed on the fried pickle - but thought about this board and smiled.)

Personally I think skipping the fried pickle is a good call. Having fun on your road trip?

Not doing the road trip yet. This was directly to (and tomorrow from) a conference.

Looking forward to the coastal road trip! Lots of good eatin' to try out!

Maybe I should call it my coastal food trip!

I will be waiting for the report (sans pickle). It does sound like a fun trip.

Since this is resurrected, Bistro 217 in Pawley's is really delicious food--fine dining sister resto to Island Deli and Cafe, which is also VERY good and very reasonable.
Tried to get to Oboroso's and didn't. Will try again in April!!

Did I mention Roz's for lunch--in the Hammock Shops complex. She was the chef at Frank's Outback years ago. NICE food.

AND don't MISS going to Brookgreen Gardens for the sculpture and gardens. Beautiful!!

Went to Divine's recently and am singularly UNIMPRESSED. Overpriced and not particularly good food. So much better elsewhere along the coast is available. Not even local seafood served.
