Fast Vegas Car rental

Will be renting a car for the first time in Vegas because we are staying at the Green Valley Ranch hotel in Henderson. Don't want to spend a lot of time standing in line to pick up and drop off a car. Any recommendations? And has anyone stayed at the GVR lately? Thanks for your help.

You definitely need to pick up the car at the airport, it would be a hefty cab fare to Green Valley, not to mention the lines are horrendous at peak periods. Priceline offers really good discounts on cars in Las Vegas, check out biddingfortravel.com for prior winning bids. Have a great trip!

If you're looking for a fast car, there are several spots on the strip that rent "exotics" for a premium. Prowler, Viper, etc.

Dollar Rent A Car has a program called Fastlane. You can sign up online, you don't need to leave a credit card number, when you get your luggage go straight to the shuttle pickup outside and when you get to Dollar, your car is waiting for you. No lines, just get in and go. Don't ever go thru Alamo in Vegas - we waited in line a couple of hours, and that's when we switched to Dollar. Are there any shuttles going to GVR? You might be able to take one out there and then rent a car. Haven't stayed there - we always stay on the Strip. Have fun!

Thanks for the Dollar suggestion. I have already signed up. It is my first time at GVR and they do have a shuttle to the airport and to Mandalay Bay. We usually stay at the Venetian, but couldn't resist their offer of free rooms. Thanks again for all the helpful advice.

As a first time visitor to Vegas soon, I am wondering, do you really need a car in Vegas if you are staying in the "main strip"??
Thanx Jet for letting me in on your question.

If you are staying on the strip, there is NO reason I can think of to have a car. In many of the biggest hotels you'd walk further to get to your car than to walk to three or four other nearby hotel/casinos.
