farmer's markets in city
Looking forward to visit to NYC next week. Could anyone advise me on Farmer's Markets in the city? I know there is one in Union Square. Is this the best one?? Any info would be helpful.

Union Square is fantastic -- the best and biggest day is Saturday, followed by Wednesday. On Wednesdays you can often see local chefs picking out produce for their restaurants. Mondays and Fridays are the slowest days, but still worth visiting.

there are also usually some great stands selling farm fresh produce at the various flea markets around town. i personally love the sunday flea market on columbus and 76th. lots of good produce (greens, peaches, apples, tomatoes, etc.), but also great flowers, crafts and various things you never knew you needed.
for strictly farmers market with the most variety, definitly hit the union square market.
