Well, it's your trip but I'll echo the last two posts: WAY WAY too much driving. Not a good way to see Colorado. (I've lived her 40 years).
Your Mon and Tues are each 5-7 hours of solid driving (regardless of what Google says) blasting through some amazing scenery on windy mountain roads as night falls. Plus you are planning to visit a National Park each day, so you'll have less time in the Park than you spend in the car.
For starters I'd suggest dropping Mesa Verde and shortening the gigantic loop.

I had missed that they had even included MV in the final drive. For that amount of time in a national treasure, don't bother.
drop it as Emalloy suggests. OR most especially take her advice to stay IN the park at Far View.
On your tirp you will have driven THROUGH Colorado and seen little of Colorado.

I hate to add to the negative comments. But your will encounter some of the same risks in mid-Oct that you had with your spring trip. Oct is the beginning of winter in the mountains with possibility of snow anytime especially on the higher passes. So be prepared for snow and cold weather. Breckenridge will be making snow and if conditions are favorable could open that week. However, accommodations at that time could be very reasonable if not cheap. All of the ski areas will be trying open that week or next. At some of the lower elevations, hiking will still be available even with a little snow. And I agree with others, your driving times are very favorable to a bit unrealistic.
