There's going to be a fair or festival of one type or another in almost every mountain town this fall. Lots to choose from. Also, lots of Asheville info on this board. Do a search using the box above and read away. Asheville is one of the most discussed SE locations on this board. Have fun!

Star we booked the Beachwood Inn for two nights. I also posted again to get info on Asheville and booked Haywood Park for two nights. The trip is turning out to be a little longer than expected but it sounds like there is a lot to do. Thanks for your help. Was re-reading your posts and was wondering about Madison. Would you still take that route out of Atlanta? And is Madison worth a stop?

I'm trying to find a 2-3 night anniversary getaway for the end of the month and am considering Highlands. Any updates on inns/hotels/B&B's? I've been through the area a few times but have never stayed there. I looked at things on Trip Advisor and thought a couple of the B&B's might fit the bill. We don't have a huge budget, but could probably do $500 for three nights.

xrae - we stayed at the 4 1/2 Street Inn and thought it was great. We loved the hot tub.
