Fall Escape 10 days Sonoma & San Francisco
We will be in the Sonoma Valley for 4 nights and then to SF for 6 in early Nov. Have been checking out the site here for suggestions of B & B in both. Has anyone stayed at the Vintage Towers in Geyserville or know anything about the Golden Bear B & B's in SF. Definitely open to suggestions in either area. Also, restaurants as well. While in SF, we plan to take in a couple shows and would love to experience a jazz bar or two. Suggestions?

For S.F. we love to stay at the Parc 55 downtown. You can't beat the location for shopping, great reastaurants, plays, Embarrcadero, and Union Square.
We love The Grand Cafe in the Monaco Hotel - pricy but fabulous! Kuleto's for Italian, and Sears (on Powell) for breakfast - yum! I know Les Jeoulins on Ellis has live jazz and I hear that Pearl's on Columbus is fun fun for jazz but we aren't really into jazz so I've never been there.
The Slanted Door has amazing food. These are all places really close to Park 55 and be sure to walk along The Embarcadero and check out the Embarcadero Center - fabulous! You might want to take a cab to Shanghai 1930 for serious live jazz and the dark opium den vibe.
Geyserville is beautiful and peaceful and quiet. Santi's has great food and the winerys are fun and gorgeous but the best thing about Geyserville is how close it is to Healdsburg. Healdsburg is also beautiful and has tons a fabulous restaurants, great boutique shopping, and wonderful wineries.
Good luck and have a wonderful time, Barbara

I have to take a few exceptions to Barbara's suggestions:
Pearl's is no longer in business.
If you want to stay in a B&B, I doubt the Parc 55 will fit the bill for you (big hotel in shopping district). It would be fine for me, but it doesn't sound like it's what you're looking for.
As for checking out the Embarcadero Center, well, I work in the Embarcadero Center and I can't really imagine why a tourist would be interested. 40 story office building on top of some mediocre retail and a bunch of places to eat lunch!
Lest I be seen as totally negative, I do agree the Slanted Door is great!

I was curious about Golden Bear - and from Googling I could only see that this is not exactly a B&B but some reservation service. At least check with BBB if they are legit. There is no office address posted, this is a red flag for me.

Well, concerning the local of the Vintage Towers B&B -
it is not in Sonoma Valley, nor is it in Geyserville -
it is in northen Sonoma COunty in the town of
Cloverdale. Cloverdale is about 15 mins. north of Geyserville
and about 20 minutes north of Healdsburg.
Sonoma Valley is a good 1 hour plus south of Cloverdale.
Not sure if this is where you intend to be...

Hey R5,
Guess I had been online too line, got my towns/locations/b&b's mixed up. Had success though I have book a place in Kenwood, which sounds like a perfect place. So now I can focus on a great place in SF. Preferably a B & B, North Beach or other suggestions welcome. Not sure about the Golden Bear choice either, I can't find more info on it.
Thanks others, for your input!
