Expedited Passport

Hi all!

I’m not sure which forum I should ask this but I’m looking for a credible company that does expedited passports.

Thanks in advance!

Which country/citizenship?

If you are American you should post on the US Forum, or maybe the Travel Tips board. How soon do you need the passport?

. . . if you are a US citizen, you could ask the moderators to move your thread

Thank you! It’s for my son, a U.S. resident. How do I ask a moderator to move this?

Hit the yellow triangle on one of your posts and leave a request.

(You're correct, janisj. It's Fodors Orange. I don't know why I typed yellow.)

You said your son is a US resident. Does that mean he is a permanent resident, not a citizen? He may not qualify for a passport, but need a re-entry form. There may be other possibilities, the process may be different, and what he needs may also depend on the country he is visiting.

Yes - please clarify --a 'U.S. resident' is not the same as a U.S. citizen.

Thanks all! I asked that this thread be moved. And yes, he is a citizen. Born and bred. 😊🇺🇸

If you go on line to the government's site to apply for a passport there is an option to have it expedited.

Even the US passport authorities have been WFH. Here are a couple of recent articles. There are some possible ways, but apparently not easy.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/22/t...st-minute.html

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/14/t...very-wait.html

Here is the government website (but even that has a corona virus disclaimer on it):

https://www.usa.gov/passport

It gives you directions for expedited processing. https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...ing-times.html Here is what is said this morning:

August 2021 Update

It may take 5 to 6 weeks from the day you submit your application until your status is “In Process.” During this time, your application is delivered to a mail facility, your payment is processed, and your application is entered into our system. Even if your passport status update says, “Not Available,” your application and supporting documents are safely on their way to us.

Our call center is experiencing extremely high call volumes with longer-than-usual wait times. You can check your status online using our Online Passport Status System.

The processing times below apply to all passport services.

Door-to-Door Times Routine 18 weeks (includes up to 12 weeks processing and 5 to 6 weeks mailing) Expedited 12 weeks (includes up to 6 weeks processing and 5 to 6 weeks mailing) Expedited at Agency Must have international travel within 72 hours (3 business days)

To make an appointment at a Regional Passport Agency to submit your application in person, call 1-877-487-2778; TDD/TTY: 1-888-874-7793 Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 10 PM ET. The appointment line is closed on weekends and federal holidays."
