Excalibur-Tournament of Kings

Las Vegas: What food is served for dinner at the Excalibur's Tournament of Kings? My picky 13 year-old daughter would like to know before she agrees to go.

It is all things you can eat w/your hands (no utensils are provided). I seem to recall some soup & a piece of chicken or some such thing. I'm sure if you contacted them they could provide the exact menu.

Bring your own Velveeta. It'll fit right in with the other cheese.

It's soup, chicken, some kind of potatoes (thick french fries maybe?)and lemonade with some kind of cake for dessert. Not very good food, but you're going for the show.

My son (8 at the time)liked it, my daughter (a very mature 10) thought it was just okay.

Tomato soup
Cornish hen
Bread
Thick potato/fry thingies
Broccoli
Cookies
Choice of non-alcholic beverage

At least that's what we got in October. There are no utensils, but everything is "finger friendly".

IMHO, the food is fine. It's not 5 star gourmet, but similar to meals I've had at Applebees, Chili's, etc.

I am sorry, I have to ask this. How a soup can be finger-friendly? What am I missing here?

If no utensils, do you just drink it?

Yup. You suck it on down. The bowl has a convenient handle and since it's tomato, there's nothing chunky to splash on its way out of the bowl.

Thank you for your replies. Yes, we are going for the show, not the food. We all were in England and Scotland this summer and visited castles, so this show seemed to follow the theme and was kid-friendly. Good to know that the 8 year old liked it - our son is 7. Our 13 year old will have to endure. She says the menu is OK with her.

If your teen daughter likes cute boys, she may enjoy the scenery more than the food. Some of those knights are kinda cute!

I'll say! My 13 year old daughter fell head over heals for the knight from Spain. She cheered so loud that after the show, he came over in front of our table (on horseback) and gave her a flower and posed for a picture with her. She cherishes it and has fond memories of our trip to LV. By the way, the soup is actually vegetable soup put through a blender. It is thicker than tomato alone, but just right for drinking from the handled bowl. Also, beer and wine are served, if you wish, by a separate cocktail wench and the family photos they take are great fun! You'll all have a blast!

WatersonFamily- Ah ha! I couldn't quite place the soup - tomato was the closest my palate could get...

Marsha- I hope you guys have a great time. It's also audience interactive, so even "enduring" requires a few shouts and giggles!

Now I am almost convinced to take my husband there, we're both kids at heart. Just one thing: is there a choice of anything vegetarian?
