Evening Attire at SF Cliff House

My husband and I will be having dinner at the Cliff House in San Francisco in the Upstairs Dining Room. What is the dress code for this establishment? Would we would feel comfortable in slacks and sweaters, or is more formal attire appropriate?

Nice slacks and a blouse or dress shirt will be fine.

Khakis or jeans should be okay.

There is no dress code. Wear what you want. It's not one of SF's best restaurants but the view is unbeatable.

I have been there many times but I like to go for late afternoon cocktails to see the fog roll in. I usually have an extra spicy bloody mary and a shrimp cocktail. It is way out so it takes a long time to get there and back. It is a sunset drinks spot, not a place for fine dining. I would select somewhere else for a memorable dinner in this city that has trillions of amazing choices. Cliff House is just for the ambience of seeing the fog roll in.

Nice slacks and a blouse are fine. Make SURE you get there before sunset-that is the best part of the experience- or else all you see is black.
