Estes Park to Denver...how long?

Our flight leaving DEN got moved up 6 hours! If we are staying in Estes Park, how early should we leave to make a 10:00 flight out of DEN including dropping off the rental car? (sounds like an algebra question...)

I would say you should leave no later than 5:00, though I am an early arriver. If you include rental car drop-off shuttle, etc., that probably wouldn't make it that early.

If you take 34 east to I25 (go through Loveland), then head north, then take the E470 tollway, it will take you about 2 hours to get to the airport. Then figure in what you think rental car, check in, security will take and how comfortable you feel...

holy moley, yes indeed! (But I hope one would check a map before relying on advice like that!)

I would agree at 2 hours. But have you contacted your airline to see if there are any other flight options? with a 6 hour difference in the change, you might be able to get a later flight and not pay anything.

Lakeside77...that was my first thought, but the fare classes aren't the same and the new time change would apparently cost me an extra $400 per ticket!!! (Although it doesn't seem fair that I couldn't choose what flight I was changed to...)

Sylvia3 & martym: don't worry, one can be sure I always check my own directions...

BTW, have you considered staying at an airport hotel the last night? You could take your time coming back to the airport the day before, maybe check out the sculptures in Loveland, or even Denver? (Perhaps cut a day off your car rental and take the hotel shuttle to the airport?)
