Loved this trip report, escargot. We're in the city now, and looking for pre-theatre dining suggestions for our friends. I'll pass on your experiences and the others recommended on your planning thread.

Margo: I'm glad to hear from someone who has eaten at Palma, our annual Jan group is hoping to snag that spot for next year -

Thingorjus: Those are the memories that hold our mothers with us after they are gone - next time I am there I will toast Linda and Dotti - maybe they are having fun somewhere together I hope -sigh, our mothers never live long enough - stay strong - I lost my mom to a sudden and tragic disease with no warning - it isn't easy, but we keep on ...

Everyone thanks and look forward to your trip reports.

Thanks escargot for that wonderful post! Brought back fun memories of the Food Tour with Kurt as our guide. Is Chumley's still open? Someone told me it had closed...

Also, is Palma the place that had the private dining room back in the owner's home, where there were pictures of his daughter with a rock star (Mick Jagger maybe?). I was trying to remember the name of that place in case our whole family could eat there together sometime.

Thanks for bringing back great memories!

AmishLou: Chumleys was temporarily closed b/c of some structural problem they are resolving and supposedly is slated to reopen soon -

Palmas was the restaurant with the garden in the back and then the private dining room which was the bottom floor of their home - we only peaked in the window, since it was set for a private dinner that evening - so I didn't see the photo you mention !

We hope to all eat there when our group returns to NYC next year -

Glad you liked the post, thanks.
