Emeril's New Restaurant - Royal Pacific Hotel

Has anyone been to Emeril's new restaurant in the Royal Pacific Hotel. I believe it's called Tchoup Chop. Thinking of trying it when we go up there in September. Any info/feeback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm interested as well. The two print reviews I've seen absolutely hated the place; despite Lagasse's expertise with "creole" spices (amazing since he's of Portuguese extraction, from Fall River MA), the reviews both noted that the only thing the food tasted of was far too much salt. He may have overextended himself with this place, but then again, people are now buying the Emeril brand, not the food itself. The room looks spectacular-- so I'd be interested in going just for cocktails.

Yeah, we're interested in staying at the RP when we go too.But for us, the deciding factor was the fact they welcome pets!

We ate there for Mother's Day and thought it was good, not great. The restaurant itself is beautiful. I've heard the menu has been changed since that time and should be better. It was a test and didn't quite fly. The hotel is gorgeous and the pool area is relaxing. Service was great and yes, all of the Universal Loews hotels welcome pets. They even give you a little pet amenities kit. Enjoy, it's always fun to try something new!
