Ed Debovics - Chicago

Worth going with kids (10 and 7)? Is the food bad? Better bets?

Whenever I go to Chicago and want a good hamburger and a good time, I want to go to Ed's. A 50's atmosphere with an attitude combined with good burgers. A little wild for a 10 and 7 year old but with a good waiter or waitress, the kids will enjoy it. It is a bit more of an older group place.

A VERY OVERRATED PLACE, in my opinion. We waited to get in and couldn't wait to get out. Go to your local Sonic for 1/3 the price and a far less "annoyance" factor.

We took our 10 year old and arrived early for lunch. She thought it was a hoot.

The food was good but nothing special. You're there for the atmosphere. I'd go back but not if I had to stand in line.

Everytime we go to Chicago, our children insist on going to Ed Debevics. It started when they were about 8 & 5 and now that they're teens, we're still going. Make sure to get the worlds smallest sundae and take pictures in the old photo booth (the kind that gives you a B & W strip of 4 shots.

bobo: All of the above sums up Ed's - you either love it or hate it! Personally, I wouldn't go if I didn't have kids with me....
