Visiting family in Houston for easter. Where are the great places to shop...I've been saving my $$. Already know about the galleria. Looking for great clothes and shoes mostly.

Some areas that come to mind is Montrose area. I've shopped some funky shops along Westheimer, west of Montrose before 610. Highland Village (Westheimer & 610) if you have $$$. The Rice area should have lots of stores, especially around Kirby & University.
I can't really think of any other areas outside of the loop that aren't strip mallish.

Does anyone know if these shopping areas are open late on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.? I can contact the malls directly and find out but thought someone could give me a quick response.
