No need to give a report from Portland, OR as I'm sure y'all know what's happening here.... for the next 4-5 months.

BBum-Yes. Another Jailblazer arrested and then traded?

I just heard a Master Card debit card commercial:
"Tan lines in January: PRICELESS".
Raining and gloomy on the outside but always on the inside!

Here I am in Tucson, the sun is shining, the temps are in the 70's, no rain in sight. This is why we put up with the hot summers, so we can have beautiful falls and winters.

I spent a week in Nebraska last winter - that was enough for me.

The weather isn't bad here in the Bay Area. A little rain, a little wind, a little chilly - it IS wintertime afterall.

Not only is it cold and clammy and drizzling and dank outside but I haven't had a working furnace in 2 days. They have to overnight the part from Pittsburgh, they say. Uh huh. Bought a space-heater and have every light in the house on -- amazing how much heat the lights generate. But I'm still COLD. Timing is everything -- a year ago we not only had no heat but no light or power -- and that for a week. So I guess I'm grateful we aren't freezing in the dark. But DH and some other fanatics think they're going to watch the NCAA women's soccer finals in this weather. Arghh.

I ditto Patricks weather. BUT I miss winter BIG TIME. We were in Boston 3 weeks ago and I was all teary eyed at the kids skating on the Frog Pond! I may get flamed for saying this, but sometimes SW FLA's weather is sooooo boring(me originally from PA). There is supposed to have a high of mid sixtys this weekend, maybe I can finally wear some FALL type clothes again. I want to go to a ski resort so I can have an "ideal" winter, and I don't even ski! No, I am not being facetious, I am serious! Anyone from the snowy west want to home exchange? From the "grass is always greener" camp, Judy

An Austrian couple once told me, there's never bad weather, only bad clothes.

Here in New Jersey they are forecasting 6 inches of snow over the next two days. I will gladly trade with anyone in Florida. Patrick, if a middle aged red head shows up at your door looking forlorn and cold. Please let me in.

Wow, the weather in Buffalo is pretty good right now....cold (but not freezing) because of all the sunshine we're having. It will be close to 50 next week, which is very warm for December. Actually, this is when I want it to SNOW - after all, it's Christmas time. By February I will be cursing the snow!!!

They say it's snowing in NJ and the storm's heading this way to Maine. Looks like we'll be getting the generator out again.

It took me 4.5 hours to get to work on Tuesday - all because of a quickie snow flurry that hit the Boston area and caused 300 separate car accidents. FOUR AND A HALF HOURS!!!!!!While thousands were stuck going no where because the roads were not sanded, the snow plow operators were protesting at the State House because they don't want GSP installed in their vehicles. Heaven forbid someone should make anyone in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts accountable. Hey I know they work hard and the govenrment takes forever to pay them but come on....

And the weather prognosticators are telling us that there is 12 inches or more on its way up here for the weekend.

So yeah - East Coast Weather ain't looking too good to me right now. Its going to be a long long winter.

There are going to be some darn cold fish in Foxboro this Sunday. The weather will definately give the Pats an edge but you never know what can happen if its still snowing. But you've got to like our chances.

Good luck with your flight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can get to the Lowell Auditorium to see the Irish Tenors. Its taken quite alot to talk my Italian husband into going with me and I hate to see him weasel out of it.

Looked out my office window and starting to see the snowflakes cming down slowly at this moment here in NYC. I heard on the news we're expecting up to 8 inches tonight and ANOTHER 8 inches on Saturday!! I'm used to cold winters, and love the fact that we get 4 actual seasons here, but I still have my days of hating the cold!

and Judyrem, you can trade with me, I've been meaning to get to the gulf coast!

...And one of my favorite events of the year, the December De Anza flea market will, in all probability, be rained out tomorrow here in the SF Bay area. Bummer!

I LOVE seasons, even winter. We have a place in Naples, FL but choose to spend winters in New England because we ski in VT at least 2 days a week. Last week, it was 3 degrees with windchills way below 0 while skiing. Didn't mind. Big storm coming tomorrow - a foot or more of snow. I'm looking forward to it. Like FL weather a little at a time but it does get boring to me after a while. Grew up in New England so I guess it's just in my blood. To each his own. It would be great if everyone got to live where they preferred and it's a good thing that we don't all prefer the same place!!

Snow's that white stuff that falls from the sky, isn't it? OK, I'm looking out the window now....but don't there have to be clouds in the sky first?
