If you are in Charlottesville on a Saturday, you can watch UVA Cavaliers play Duke Nov 21 and Viginia Tech Nov. 28. UVA is only 4-2 so far this season, but they are a lot of fun to watch, especially if you take some food and drinks for tailgating.
Asheville is lovely, my BIL lives nearby. Have not been to Williamsburg in ages.

Thanks Amy - the blog is excellent - I love that poem! (Has motivated me to stop nagging my kids and see if they listen more if I speak less!) Will definitely reference when we get to a detailed plan for Philly. Good point about Thanksgiving food - prob better to keep is simple! Jamie99 - we won't be there on a Saturday unfortunately. My husband is having a nightmare trying to find a game for us to watch - nothing seems to line up with the days we are about. Never mind. I remember watching a ball game in a diner in Boston and the atmosphere was awesome - so probably don't need to actually be at the stadium anyway

Hello, THISISFUN! I was wondering where you ended up for your Thanksgiving meal and how it all worked out. You certainly had lovely weather for being in Philadelphia in November. Hope all is going well on the trip!
