I don't know anything about the Sante Fe but if there's a Drury in town that's always where we stay. Superb service, free cocktails and even dinner in the evening as well as free breakfast and free wifi.

Drury is new as a hotel. It was a hospital. It opened in 2014. Much better location; easy walk to plaza.

SF Motel is on Cerillos Rd. That is a busy main corridor of SF. There website says walking distance to plaza, but it's a long walk. If you drive, you'll have to deal with parking.

Are they the same price? What time of year?

Also, check out Inn of the Governors.

I'm a fan of the St. Francis. Sorry, can't comment on either of your two picks, though.

If you stay at Drury, I would love to hear your review. Sounds interesting if it was a former hospital...

If you stay at Drury, I would love to hear your review. That is a new one to me and if it is close to the plaza, worth checking out.

I have friends who stayed at the Drury and enjoyed it. It is well-located. But we usually stay at the Inn of the Governors. Well-located, free parking, free substantial breakfast, credit in the bar, and many rooms have a fireplace. The Drury is newer, and that's a plus, but, all in all, we like Inn of the Governors. We also stay at La Fonda when traveling with less mobile relatives. It's also wonderful, but more expensive. St. Francis is also nice, as NewBe mentioned.

I've stayed at the Drury Inn at Santa Fe. I've been hooked on Drury Inn's after staying at one during my San Antonio vacation years ago. If there is one at a location that I am visiting sure enough, I'm staying there.

I really liked the location in Santa Fe. It was only a few blocks away from the Georgia O'Keeffe museum and lots of places to eat and shop. I got a suite with bedroom and pull out sofa as I stayed with my parents so needed two rooms or a suite with a door in between two sleeping areas. We had a fireplace as well which was nice to use. You do have to pay for parking which not all charge but this one does. Since we were already paying for parking, we just parked the car there and walked around. You get so much food included in the room price that my Dad refuses to go out for dinner. You also get 2 free alcoholic beverages. This is why I think the hotel prices are higher but we think it's worth it. They are putting one in Pittsburgh, PA and I going in May to check it out. Not all of their locations are superb but this was one was and I'd stay here again.

FYI: We had a horrid experience at the Drury Inn at PHX airport. Crummy place, noisy.
So even if you like this hotel group, avoid the one at PHX.

When we were in town last month, we walked by the Drury several times before realizing it was a hotel and not part of the St. Francis of Assisi property. Which is to say that the building's architecture is more institutional in appearance as compared to other hotels and lodgings in Santa Fe. Santa Fe Motel & Inn on the other hand oozes southwest adobe character and charm. I'd be tempted to choose it despite its being ~ 1/2 mile from the Plaza. Besides, you'll want to do something to burn off calories from all those margaritas.
