Does anyone know about Jersey Week at WDW?

I just learned that the week we're at WDW (the first week in Nov) is always known as Jersey Week - the teachers from NJ have some kind of convention at the end of the week so it's a short week for kids. Does anyone have any experience being there during this period and is it really substantially more crowded at this time?

Huh - if you read her post instead of being a wise-guy, you'd know she's talking about teachers from NJ. I'll be there the same week and would like some more info too...any advice?

Been there that week, and the crowds were not a problem.

Is it true that during Jersey week they let women with hair that rises at least 10" above their head in for free?

The women I know from NJ (myself included), do not have big hair. That went out in the 80's, and that ugly trend was not limited to NJ.

I had big hair in the eighties and I live in Manhattan.

Most people when they are knocking NJ are usually meaning to knock the working class. Although when you point this out they get all defensive. Somehow it is ok to knock around someone from a state but you are just terrible if you are honest about picking on someone less priviledged.

Blame it on the movie Working Girl. People from Jersey perfected the high hair look.

It's not Jersey that is what the working class of the outer boroughs call it. I won't call you idiot because I think your post does that itself.

Just love it when some blue collar son or daughter from queens or brooklyn attacks someone from N.J. LIKE THERE IS SO MUCH DIFFERENCE!!! Outside of Manhattan and you all look the same to us.

It's amazing how fast y'all get off on a tangent...Big hair aside, I was just trying to get a feel for just how crowded the parks will be that week! (And I thought all the big hair was in Texas!!).

Charlie: Thanks for your reassurance! With an 8 and 6 year old, the last thing I wanted was long lines at every ride...See you there!

I'm in NJ now because I am going to Princeton. My niece & nephew are out of school that week so they are going to WDW...along with half of their classmates and their families. It still will not be as crowded but there will be a lot of people from Jersey.
