Does anyone here know what this is?

What is this building in the picture?

I'm trying to figure out what it is. Maybe some monument design that was scrapped? Any help appreciated.

For a second I thought it was the old terminal building (now a Marriott hotel) at the Liverpool airport, but it's not.

Sorry, can't help you.

Good luck!

Think you're right, it was a proposed monument designed that wasn't used. In some ways, it looks a lot like Soldiers Field in Chicago (take away the obelisk), but it's also possible it was one of the designs for the Washington Monument. Where did you dig this up?

A friend's friend is testing her w/ this. There's a little prize involved if she figures it out. Guess they play this little game often.
It's driving me crazy!

I think it says "Stadium for royal park commission" at the bottom. I could imagine seeing this on The Amazing Race.

Hard to tell from the size of the photo, but the bottom part looks very similar to the Vittorio Emmanuel monument in Rome with the Washington Monument stuck on top.

Could this be some doctored photo/political statement trying to link Washington and Rome?

Figured it out! It IS Soldier Field. It was an original design for the field. Thanks for the help!

tThe caption below is pretty fuzzy, but I enlarged it in a photo editing program and I think it says Stadium for the Soyth Park Commission. Google Soyth Park and that spelling brings up "south park" listings??? Buh?
