Does anyone else have problems with the threads on the forum loading?

I've been having a problem for some time with the threads on the forum loading. Sometimes they don't and sometimes it just takes "forever" despite my highspeed internet connection. I don't seem to have problems elsewhere online. Anyone else share this prob?

I had the same problem just about the same time mclaurie did. The other thing I am finding is that I have to repeatedly log-in if I want to respond.

I think they have been updating the site like the tags that are visible so that may be the reason for the slow loading. I have had the same issues.

I have the same problem quite often! It is a definite reoccurring problem.

Wow! I just had the wierdest bloop yet. I clicked on the US board, and I got a list on the left of all theses posts that had huge titles [with enough info that a post wouldn't even be needed] all from the same poster - daydreamer= with the most recent reply being months ago.

Bizarre...

I also had a weird problem yesterday, where posts for one specific area, like Fort Lauderdale and Oregon would load under "United States." Every time I clicked US again, I'd get a different subset of posts.

It must be their upgrade causing these glitches. I'm sure it will all be resolved shortly.

I've been getting the wrong forum (i.e., I click on Europe, but the Lounge posts show up).

I was having a similar problem until yesterday, when Dh unplugged one of the power cords to a modem for a few minutes. Then, voila, everything is fast again! Yay!

I have all the problems listed here. The bottom frame says "Done" but no threads are loaded for the longest time, I click on the US forum & it's the lounge, I click on the lounge & it's Europe. Tonight I click on the US and only Alaska threads come up. Whew it's really crazy!!!

Hey, here's a new one... just now when I tried to change forums it seemed to be pulling up all my posts from all forums (as if I'd clicked on my screen name instead).

Yes mclaurie, I just came back on to Fodor's tonight as I too had problems..the same as you did. I gave up trying to access Fodor's today.

And it is not my highspeed internet connection either. I guess the problem is because Fodor's was working on the "tagging" thing..which I don't like.

Yes mclaurie, I too have had that same problem for quite some time. Seems like it takes forever to load. I knew it was a Fodor's problem because it was not happening on any other site.

Yes, it happens all the time.

And, sometimes when I click on "next 50 threads" it just takes me back to #1.

Also, sometimes when changing from one forum to another it goes to the wrong place - I click europe and get the lounge - not once - but several times.

At first I thought it was my browser - but it happens both at home and at work (during the BORING conference calls) - one on a Mac and one a PC, one using Safari and the other Internet Explorer.

Obviously the site still needs some work.

Well it's nice to know I'm not alone, but sorry the website is having problems. Just thought I'd make sure it's not my computer and at the same time let the Fodors people know, if they didn't.

The "tagged" thing is new since yesterday, I think, but this loading problem has really been going on for months it seems. It's particularly difficult to get a list of my posts or a particular state or subject.

I apologize for the multiple problems mentioned here. To my knowledge they do not have anything to do with the "new" tags that we are now displaying. It's a larger network issue we are having (and have been having as many of you note); I will send all of your observations to our tech support staff and I will continue to watch this thread and will be sure to report back.

Thanks for being so patient everyone!

I don't mind... but I did just get to the US forum by pulling down Europe! And it was doing that show all my own posts thing again, regardless of which forum I picked.

We could put this question in the "Forums Help" section, but no one seems to read that one. But that's another conversation entirely.

Hang in there, Katie_H (we don't mind too much)

Katie,

Please let the tech staff know that I selected the Europe forum and the United States threads loaded.
