wow,
I'm a big fan of Southwest Airlines. I just checked their website, and you can only book through Sept at the moment, but by putting in some random dates, you could theoretically fly (in August) from Buffalo to West Palm Beach with a stopover in BWI or TAMPA (!) for $99 each way. It takes a little work to get the best deal on SWA as you have to keep checking to see when they open for reservations for the dates you want and you may have to be flexible with dates and times, but it could be worth watching.

Hi, i second the vote to go jetblue. they are extremely accomodating, charge minimal change fees - even let you cancel your flight for only a $25 fee as long as you fly somewhere else within a year. i would try to call customer relations at us air to cancel the ticket. i also believe that us air is likely to go bust by next january, and if you are lucky enough to be accomodated on another airline, you certainly will have little choice in route - you might even be given a flight that has 2 stops! karen
