Distance across Waikiki
How long to you think it would take to walk from Queen Kapiolani Hotel to the Hilton Hawaiian Village? Walking on the streets/sidewalks?
What about walking on the beach? Cost of a taxi between the two place? Would using The Bus be practical this route?
Thanks in advance for any guesstimates or input. I'm helping someone at work plan a 1/2 business 1/2 pleasure trip & need information different than what my own vacation experience covers.

It's only about two miles, so you could do it in 30 minutes if you speedwalk and don't get distracted. More realistically, I'd allow 45 minutes to an hour. Beach would be the same distance, obviously, but I know I'm much more prone to meandering when I'm on the sand
Not sure on taxi/bus.

Yes, The Bus travels this route. It should be no problem to catch one. It would be a trip of about 10 mintues on The Bus. Check their website www.thebus.org
Personally, I would probably ride one direction and walk the other direction, just to look around.

If it's only 2 miles it depends upon the time of day. It seems like anything is quicker than driving.
Heck, you could hop it on one foot in less time then it would take to wait for either a bus or taxi and then wade through traffic.

Let's say they were walking straight from the Queen Kap to HHV without stopping to browse, they still do have to make time for dodging crowds and the stoplights. It might take 45 minutes....
But if they stop to browse, it could take 1/2 to a whole day. When we run errands to all the hotels in Waikiki, it goes from about 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.!
