Meeting my 2 grand daughters, ages 6 and 10 and need the names of decent, not toooo expensive restaurants in Disneyworld. We will not have a car so will use the transportation available. I was told to take them to a Breakfast with the Disney characters. We would like the names of places that are not only for children. No "rainforrest"....been there. They eat everything.

Barbara - DEFINITELY go to Deb Wills unofficial guide site at www.wdwig.com She lists restaurants, menus, price ranges, and numerous trip reports from adults & kids including the dining experiences. Personally I have done the dinner buffet at the Crystal Palace, it had Pooh characters when I was there last year, excellent buffet with lot of choices for kids & adults. At Epcot, The Land pavilion has a food court on the lower level with lots of choices, reasonably priced for WDW. I have never done a character breakfast, but there are lots to choos from & you can check trip reports on Deb's site for reviews. Have fun!

Barbara, I second Joy's suggesion of Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends. We have only done the breakfast there, but enjoyed it immensely (and it was always just my husband and I). Your granddaughters may enjoy the character meals at Cinderella's castle. We also ate there and enjoyed it. However, the breakfasts are VERY popular and book up at least 2 months in advance. Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Hotel is a good breakfast as well. Joy is right about Deb Wills' site. It is one of the best resources around.

I third (?) the recommendation for the Crystal Palace. We just went there for the first time with our kids, ages 12 and 14, and they also loved it. Food to please everyone, and good quality. I don't know when you're going . . . . We were just there in August and walked in for lunch and got seated right away.

Our favorite place, after many visits, is the Sci-Fi Dine-In at Disney MGM. You sit in modified cars (with tables), in a darkened room, and watch old sci-fi shorts on a big screen. We love it and always go there for our first dinner.

Depending on where you're staying, you might be able to get bus transportation over to the Wilderness Lodge, where the Whispering Cliffs (I think) restaurant is great. It's got a regular menu and an all-you-can-eat menu. The "cast" of wait staff are very entertaining.

My final recommendation is Chef Mickey's, in the Contemporary Resort, which is right on the monorail. It's another all-you-can-eat buffet, with characters, notably Chip, Dale, and Goofy. As I recall, the food isn't quite as good as at the Crystal Palace.

It's Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge.

If your grandkids like the Winnie-the-Pooh stories than I would suggest Olivia's Cafe at the Old Key West Resort at WDW. Great food, never crowded so Pooh, Tigger and Eye-ore will hang around your table for quite a while to interact with kids.
