DISNEYWORLD MEALPLAN $

Am going to Disneyworld and they offer meal plans included with hotels and park resort tickets.

Anyone purchased the meal plans?

Looking at the description; it's so confusing since they give no price value to the plan.

please respond to

[email protected]

In case I can't get back on the Fodors website.

Thanks so much for any info.

Meal plans are a way to rope you into eating at a limited number of restaurants.

You write, it's so confusing since they give no price value to the plan. If it were a good deal, there would be no confusion--the actual value would be clearly stated or advertised, e.g. "A $300 value for $200."

Forget about meal plans and extended warranties on most electronics except lap tops.

We found it to be a good deal . . we used it at a variety of places and felt like we saved $$

It is difficult to place a dollar value on it because it depends on how and where you use it.

Meals and snacks are very expensive so if you want to avoid the sticker shock then go ahead with the meal plan. I was just there in May and as an example, a rice krispie treat was $3.00. I'm referring to the packaged kind that you get 8 in a package for $2.00 at the grocery store. There is a $12 mug that is refillable with soda, coffee, etc.. Otherwise plan on at least $3.00 for a soft drink. A typical lunch of a hamburger, fries, and a drink will cost about $15.00. Depending on what you eat; like the previous poster stated, will make a difference in whether or not the meal plan is a good deal.

Unless you're willing to drive "off property" to get food, it's a good deal. (You'll spend less than out of pocket, at least.)

Thank you for writing. We know it will be costly but think from the postings and further questioning Disneyworld, we will skip the meal plan. What a great way to lose weight!!! Ha
