disneyland with a baby

My husband and I took our laid back 14 month old son there for one day. We were pretty much limited to the "It's a Small World" boat ride and one or two others. We brought him because he was still nursing, but I wouldn't take an infant there for any other reason. I agree that it would be kindest to leave him with family if possible. If not, just divide the kids up between you and use a lot of sunscreen.

again, leave the infant at home if you can. you will have your hands full with the 6 & 4.
if you can't, they have a "baby swap" system that would enable your husband to go on a ride with the other kids while you hold the baby, then when he is done, you just take his place and he yours. that way you can both enjoy the rides without standing in line twice.

Dan,
We returned from Disneyworld recently and while we were lucky, ours are 15 and 11 years old, I can't say that for those who braved the park with infants. Your baby might be "the best baby" but taking him/her to disneyland is crazy. You will be so limited in what you can see, your days will be so short cause baby needs a nap, and waiting in the lines with a restless baby is no fun. Most faces we saw at disneyworld with infants were faces of stress. Hope I've helped a little

I took my son (with lots of other family) when he was 9 months old. It was fine. He had fun. While it can be a bit stressful, there are a few things that can make it easier.
There is a baby/nursing/feeding station on Main St. If you are still nursing, they have a private room you can use. They also have a bunch of changing tables, highchairs for feedings, and even sell baby food and extra diapers if you need them. I found the room extremely quiet and helpful with the baby. It was a good place to "unwind" a bit. My baby napped in his stroller, so if this is an option, the nap shouldn't be too much of an issue. I suggest seeing shows like the Tiki Room and rides like Small World, Jungle Cruise where the lines move relatively quickly and there are lots of things for little ones to see. The baby swap thing for rides is great. I think you'll have fun if you don't put a lot of pressure on yourself with high expectations and just go with the flow.
