Disneyland or Universal for thirtysomethings

My husband is working in Southern California for a few weeks and I fly into LAX tomorrow for a six day trip. We're trying to decide if we should go to Disneyland OR Universal Studios, or skip both since we don't have kids. Still worth it for 30 year olds!?

Any advise would be appreciated! Thanks.

Have you never been to Disneyland? If not, Disneyland would get my vote at any age. Also, there's Downtown Disney between Disneyland and California Adventure, that's great for hanging out. Lots of restaurants, a few bars that serve alcohol, and lots of shopping. What are you planning for the rest of your time? I'd spend 2 days at Disneyland/California Adventure.

We've both been to Disneyland and Universal over ten years ago with our families. We're spending two days in San Diego with my husband's brother, and two others in Victorville where my husband is working

Thanks, coug gal!

Between Disneyland and Universal, I would still recommend Disneyland. California Adventure is new in the last ten years. I haven't been that impressed with Universal. Wish I had more to recommend in the area. We're from Northern California and most of our trips recently have been college survey trips for our teenagers.

If you're set on a theme park, you could try Disney's California Adventure. It has some interesting exhibits that adults might enjoy, such as the Golden Vine wine tour, the tortilla factory. Soaring over California is also a great ride.

If you are into roller coasters and thrill rides, I would suggest Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Otherwise, there are lots of other worthwhile attractions: the Getty, Disney Concert Hall, the beach, the Hollywood Bowl, Aquarium of the Pacific, Griffith Park, Warner Brother's Studio tour, just to name a few.

Disneyland is definitely worth it! My boyfriend and I spent 3 days there last year for my 30th birthday and we had so much fun! We got the parkhopper pass but we didn't spend too much time in CA Adventures (although they do serve alcohol there). Disneyland never gets old for me.

Disney always gets my vote. I've been to both and Universal. Universal has City Walk to counter Downtown Disney, but I am a big Disney fan. I would recommend the Park Hopper even if you are going for one day, then you can do the best of both. There are a couple of things worthy in California Adventure.

Have fun, "The Mouse Rockes!"

My vote would have been Universal Studios and City Walk; until DL opened California Adventure.

Now it is a tie.... I would vote for what is closer to where you are staying.
