DISNEYLAND - Best hotels with shuttle service?

I am travelling to Disneyland from Australia in September, and have been searching through tripadvisor, expedia, hotelclub for the best hotel to stay in. We are staying here purely for two days at Disneyland. We are arriving with a hire car but dropping that off once in Anaheim so we won't need carparking.

Our budget is under $200 night including taxes, which from various websites looks like it shouldn't really be a problem. I don't need to stay inside the park.

Also, at the end of our stay we are going to LAX - can anyone tell me of the best way to get there from Anaheim?

Thanks in advance.

Ramada Inn - Maingate is a nice hotel, and is directly across from Disneyland, no shuttle needed.

The embassy suites and hampton inn have shuttles to disneyland and are just a few blocks away from disneyland.

There are a lot of shuttles to lax from disneyland. Look at anaheimairportshuttle.com, shuttle2000.com or google disneyland airport shuttle for more companies

The Candy Cane Inn gets a lot of good reviews and is close enough to walk, or use the shuttle.

Have you used the official Disneyland "good neighbors" web page?

It's got a map that shows the hotels relative to the theme parks. The closest are on Harbor around the Ramada Maingate or Best Western Park Plaza. I wouldn't go farther south than Candy Cane.

Anaheim Resorts runs shuttles to almost all of the hotels, you don't need a dedicated hotel shuttle. However I agree that it's just as easy to stay within walking distance.

There is a scheduled hourly bus service from the Disneyland hotels to LAX that a lot of people find just as convenient as a shuttle.

This is from a post below - called "Trip Report - LA with Teen"

Changed to the Candy Cane Inn in Anaheim for the last 2 nights. - Very nice place in a great location at a reasonable price. It was definitely worth changing hotels so we could be next to Disneyland. This place is really a short walk there - you don't even have to take the bus, but they do have one. Rooms are fine - clean and everything worked. There is a small pool & hot tub, but we didn't have time to use them. A continental breakfast is included which is another convenient touch.
Two other points - though the rooms are standard motel rooms, the landscaping and greenery is really nice. Doesn't seem like you're on a major street. Also, the people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.

The Howard Johnson across the street from Disneyland is a good choice for your budget. Nice pool and restaurant nearby. FYI - There are several HoJo's in the area so make sure you're looking at the one across from Disney.

There are several choices in hotels that are pretty much directly across the street from the main entrance. It's literally a 5-10 minute walk from your hotel room door to the main gates.

If you stayed at one of those hotels it probably would be faster to get back and forth to the park than staying somewhere that necessitated catching a shuttle.
