Disney World at Easter/Too crowded?

I've read that Easter is the second busiest time of year for Walt Disney World. The article even said that it's not unusual to have full capacity crowds and that the parks actually have to stop letting people in. Has anyone been this time of year? Is it even worth going or should we re-schedule our trip?

I have been to Disney World 16 times in the last four years...and have probably been there at every different time of the year. The only time I was ever turned away was when I showed up on New Years Eve at 9:00PM (so I guess I got what I deserved!). Bear in mind that the park has a pretty large capacity, so even on the very busiest days, it will take some time until they have to turn people away. What I'm saying is that, as long as you arrive early in the day (before 10:00) I can't imagine the park would already be full. As far as crowding and line-ups once you're in the park...this seems to be inevitable even on slow days. Waiting in line for rides is basically an unavoidable part of Disney and one you should expect. However, there are some ways to minimize your wait. If you don't mind arriving really early (right when the park opens), hit the most popular rides (ie. Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribean, Space Mountain) first before the park fills up. Conversely, many lines are shorter at the end of the day as people are starting to leave, but not as much as early in the morning. The lines are also considerably shorter during the parades, so if you don't mind missing the parade, you can get to some of the more desirable rides while everyone else is lining the sidewalks on mainstreet. Another option (but risky) is to go on a day that looks like it MIGHT rain, but you think it won't. I once did this and got lucky - it didn't rain, and there were no crowds! Another point: the weather in April is perfect for Disney World...a few months earlier can be downright chilly and a few months later the heat is oppressive. So it may be worth fighting to crowds to enjoy the parks on a beautiful day. Have fun!!

Thanks for your help. I think we'll let the weather decide for us. If it's nice and sunny, we'll just stay put and go to the beach, cool and overcast- we'll try our luck with Disney.

Disneyland in December
We are planning to stop off at Disneyland early December on our way to Canada from Australia. What's the best deals on accommodation in Annaheim. What is the minimum number of days you would need to be able to see all of Disneyland. Is Univeral Studios a one day trip or do you need longer. What's the weather like early December.
Thanks

Easter time is the last week of the year I would go to Disney, add to that Christmas and the 4th of July. If you have the option to wait until late April or early May, the rates are way down and the lines are really easy. We went in May and didn't wait more than 15-20 minutes for the most popular rides. Compare that to 1 hour plus. My vacation time is too valuable for that. We also did another trip to Fla. in May to do Universal Studios and Sea World. Great destinations. Again 10-15minute max on the lines and we were able to go when they opened, leave there around 12-2:30 to go back to our hotel for lunch by the pool and sunbathing and then return afterwards and were still able to see everything in one day. Hope this gets to you before it's too late!!!!

If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can get into the parks an hour early. Each day, a different park opens early for resort guests. Additionally, resort guests can visit Animal Kingdom before its official opening on April 22. All the attractions are open and there are no lines.
