This year or next year? Schools are out then and Disney will be packed. You may have problems even finding accommodations at this late date. Try Disboards.com and Mousesavers.com.

The general wisdom is that WDW's slowest time of the year are the three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. But then it starts to get extremely packed between Christmas and New Years. I've been to WDW during other reportedly extremely busy times of the year and still have found it to be quite fun. So don't let the crowds bother you if there are any,use Fastpasses to see the most popular attractions, take breaks, take advantage of Enight if there is one. And definately read the boards GoTravel mentioned. Another recommendtion is the Unofficial Guide to Disney - very helpful in planning trips during busy times of the year.

People are just getting ready for Xmas, that is why it's slow. I live in Otown and like another poster said, it's a perfect time. Because of all the hurricanes in Central Florida, many schools are having to make up time the week before Christmas, so the locals aren't likely to be at Disney either.

We were there last year at that time and it was great. The parks are not that busy b/c the kids are still in school and the decorations are wonderful. One of our favorite things to do is to go to the different hotels to see how they are decorated.

Ignore the baffling response from GoTravel. Most schools are NOT on vacation the week before Christmas and Disney World is not packed. Accomodations are readily available and even the Disney resorts still have plenty of openings.

tracy, the last day for North and South Carolina schools is Friday, December 17th and they go back Monday January 3rd.

What other two weeks do school kids get off for the holidays? December 13-27th? December 27-Jan 10th? Trying to figure this one out. Or maybe in your neck of the woods the kids go to school on Friday, December 24th.

In "our neck of the woods" kids are out of school from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3. My nephew always goes to WDW the week before Christmas and says the crowds are quite small. Everyone is gearing up for the holidays.

Thankfully most Fodors posters express disagreement by replying that they simply "differ with someone", rather than a pompous "Ignore the baffling response...".
