Elaine,
I know that the 2 resorts you are asking about are located in WDW.
The Beach Club offers 3 room types:
1. One bedroom Villa, 726 sq. feet. Fully equipped kitchen, king bed in master bedroom with whirlpool tub, queen suze sofa sleeper in living room. TV, VCR, washer/dryers, private porches or patios.
2. two bedrooms 1080 sq ft, and all of the above, except an additional bedroom with a queen bed, double sofa sleeper and private bath
3. Studio kitchenettes- No sqaure footage available, but come equipped with microwave, under counter refrigerator, wet bar, coffee maker, double sofa sleeper, one queen bed, tv, hair dryer, ceiling fan and outdoor patio/balcony.
The Boardwalk Villas offer just about the same, the square footage is a little different: Studio-376 sq. ft, 1 bedroom-712 sq ft, and 2 bedroom-1072 sq. feet.
Either property would be ideal, but only you know your children so perhaps you should look at the recreational opportunities offered. Good luck, you will have a great time. Be sure you allow enough time there for all there is to do. 5 to 7 nights is my recommendation.

They are both wonderful resorts. I stayed at the Yacht Club in Oct, which is attached to the Beach Club. The advantage of the Beach Club is that it's a closer walk to Epcot. Also, if your children love pools - Stormalong Bay is a must. The pool has a sandy bottom. My 4 year old twins had to be dragged out of there each time. They absolutely loved it.

Elaine,
The Beach Club will only have standard rooms to offer in April of this year. The Villas are due to be completed by the Fall of 2002. That might help you also to make a decision.
Both offer great pools, and it is a hard decision. Have a wonderful, magical trip.

I've stayed at both resorts and both are really lovely. I love the lobby of the Boardwalk Villas and the clown pool is really fun for kids. But the pool at Stormalong Bay at the Beach Club is unique (at least I've never seen another pool like it)It features a sand bottom, whirlpools, monster slide (kids love this), a current, grottos etc. Both resorts are walking distance to Epcot and share the same transportation to the other parks. Boardwalk offers more choices for restaurants.
Its pretty much a toss up but I'd have to go with the Beach Club because of the pool. We last stayed there in June 2000 and loved watching the Epcot fireworks at night while swimming in the pool. Check out wdwinfo.com or wdwig.com for more information and opinions.

Don't know how you might feel about this topic, but since you are traveling with children, check the time of year because Disney hosts a large Gay Pride week in the spring. Had friends who left because of some of the things they saw during that time.
