We were thinking about visiting Disneyland with our two kids (6 & 3) the week before Easter. I have read this is one of the busiest times to go. Is it worth it? Or should we wait until we can go at another time?

you may have a hard time finding space (as in airfare and hotels) and this late date.

We already have our airfare to LA and I did some preliminary checking on hotels and have found some options. My concern is regarding potential LONG lines that my children would not have the patience for.

Your kids are the perfect age for Disneyland. Yes, it is one of the busier times, because kids here are out of school, and even I'm planning to take a day off work to take my kid at that time. I'd still go, since you will probably not be going on the bigger rides that have all the lines -- except Dumbo, which always has long lines, but the kids love it! (Me too!).

One thing to consider -- the lines may be shorter this year because the heightened alert and extra security at Disneyland may thin out the crowds somewhat.

Easter week is very crowded. The best advice is to be at the gates before they open, and head straight to Dumbo & Peter Pan (they have no FastPass). Then whatever 'thrill rides' your 6 yr old wants to try out. Use FP whenever possible and take rests. The weather should be nice. If it's convenient, take a rest at your hotel midday, maybe take a short swim, then head back around 4 or 5pm. DL has extended hours for the full week before Easter (A good indicator of how crowded they expect to be) DL 8am-midnight and CA 10-10pm.

Thanks for the tips. What is the best resource to turn to to learn more about FastPass and all the other in's and out's of Disney (places to go to first; possible height restrictions, etc)? At age 2 my youngest loved the Tilt-A-Whirl so I think we may be seeking out as many 'thrills' as time and height allow.

If you can avoid Disneyland during its busiest times I would recommend doing that (I think the week around Easter is statistically THE busiest time for Disneyland, or at least close). You will have to wade through crowds, and you will not get to visit many attractions for your time, money and effort. It wouldn't surprise me if you only averaged one attraction/90-120 minutes! Growing up 10 minutes from Disneyland, I've been there 40+ times in my life, and the best times are off season and weekdays, say a Tuesday. Even though you may have shorter hours, you will get to do and see a lot more. My favorite time, however, is the first week of December, after they have already decorated for Christmas (it is ultra festive), but before the big holiday crowds invade. There are all sorts of special Christmas things they do for Christmas. Another risk with planning a trip during Easter is it is still the rainy season (albeit late in the season); it is not nearly as nice to do Disney in the rain, and I've done that twice!
