discounts for Mohegan Sun

I'm planning to go to Mohegan Sun the second weekend of January. Rooms are very expensive--the cheapest for Saturday night is $375. Does anyone know of a way to get a discount or , any applicable discount code? Are the rooms worth it? Thanks for your help.

No standard hotel room in Ct. is worth $375.
You really should try to work around Saturday night if possible, as the rates do come back toward earth on other nights.

We are staying at the Fox Trail Lodge which is just a mile from Foxwoods. The website says it's near Mohegan Sun, but not ever having been there, I couldn't tell you how convenient it is to Mohegan. The rates are $79 for a small room and $99 for larger room. They offer a 20% senior discount as well. I'm hoping it's just as nice as the photos on the site.

Oops--forgot to say this is on a Tues. and Wed., but shouldn't be much more on a weekend. $375 does seem outrageous.

Looking to get msg. to Bounty..... I saw that you stayted at Fox Trail Lodge near Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun. I'm wondering how the stay was and was it as pleasant and close as they describe it on the website? If anyone else has any feedback on the Fox Trail Lodge, I'd love to hear it. Thanks and happy travels!

I wonder if they already have a set event for that weekend and that is why it is so expensive. That is outrageous. I have stayed there and the rooms are nice, but not $375 nice. Only think I can suggest is AAA discount or calling and speaking to a manager and trying to get them tocome down since you are planning so far ahead.

That is an outrageous price and no, it is definitely not worth it. Most local hotels offer shuttle service to the casino, so you don't need to drive there if that is your concern. The Courtyard Marriott in Norwich is nearby and offers shuttle service and is probably way cheaper. It's nothing fancy, but it is a clean room and a place to sleep for the night and isn't three hundred odd dollars!

I have a feeling we're not going to hear back from the original poster, since the trip was set for this PAST January. But it would be informative to know where they ended up and for what rate.
