Dinner showes in Orlando
I am thinking of taking some dinner shows in on our next trip. The two that interest me the most are the Makahiki Luau at Seaworld and Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. Are these shows worth the time and money? I know my kids would love Medieval but If I buy only one it will be the Luau. Are there any others that I should consider? Comments anyone.

Been to Medieval Times, and as you probably expect, it's pretty hokey. Lots of "jousting" and hand-to-hand "fights". But depending on your kids' ages, they might love it. I've also been to a Dixie Stampede in Tennessee, and it is all horses. So I guess it really depends on what your kids want to see. Either way, don't expect great things at the meal...all the money is spent on the acts, if you know what I mean!

I've been to Medieval Times, Arabian Nights, Pirates Adventure and another minor show (can't recall the name...something to do with the mafia). Medieval Times was a bit dissapointing; the food was okay (no forks/spoons provided, have to use your hands). IMHO Arabian Nights is the best show, with horses and all. Overall, I don't think any of those shows is worth the price of admission but the same thing can be said about anything Orlando. That being said, your kids will probably like them. Make sure you get coupons (available in most hotels) before you buy tickets.

I have 3 boys and we went to Medieval Times a few years ago. They are still talking about it! Considering the fact that you get a meal and a show, the price isn't that bad. You can pay extra to get preferred seating (can't remember what they call it) - you sit in the center section, receive your meals first and your "team" always wins. My 8 yr old still has his crown...Another big hit was Disney's Hoop-de-Doo Revue - my kids fell off their seats because they were laughing so hard!

I've been to all the shows and would agree that Arabian Nights is better than Mideval Times. the show is more interactive. I've heard great things about Dolly Parton's theater and was at the one in Pigeon Forge and had a great time. Also, if you don't find any coupons, remember that all these shows give a big AAA discount.

My favorite is Murderwatch Mystery Theatre at the Grosvenor Hotel on Saturday nights. It's a musical comedy interactive murder mystery. The buffet dinner is also quite good, and usually includes prime rib, and there is a lovely dessert buffet. Separate kid-food buffet for the little ones! The show is excellent and lots of fun since there is quite a bit of audience participation.
