Dim Sum in New York City

Where is the best place for Dim Sum in New York City? Reasonable price and I like they are using the cart one. Also, do they have a discount dim sum for a certain time? Thanks

I don't think I have ever seen "discount" Dim Sum, because it's usually pretty cheap anyway.

Best Dim Sum, there are several and everyone has their own opinion.

My favs are:

Mandarin Court on Mott St.
and
HSF on The Bowery

The cheapest and good Dim Sum is on the Bowery just north of Mott St, and I can't remember the name. Most the the patrons will be locals there.

Good dim sum can be found in Flushing too. There are half price specials on weekdays, but I don't know of any in Chinatown, just in Flushing.

I've been to HSF but prefer Golden Unicorn which is very close by. HSF was very crowded and noisy and Golden Unicorn was a bit more relaxing-more spacing between tables, not as hectic. Also, Golden Unicorn occascionally had some descriptions on the cart whereas at HSF, if you didn't speak Cantonese, it would be more difficult to know what's what.

They both have carts and the prices are comparable. At Golden Unicorn you take an elevator to get to the restaurant so don't think you're lost when you enter into a pretty bare lobby.

Jing Fong is very cheap. Even though there are 800 seats there is a wait on weekends.

Sweet N' Tart with locations in both Manhattan and Flushing is very good with few concessions to occidental palletes.

In Flushing we like Jade Asia on 39th Ave. On weekends gets crowded by 11:30 AM

Golden Unicorn after a long decline is up the upswing.
